News Release: Waterloo, ON: With the holidays behind us, and high school exams before us, SOS is here to help students prepare for exams, and to do our part to support the reconstruction process in Haiti. Over 450,000 high school students across the Southern Ontario anxiously await for the dreaded end of January finals. Boosting marks is not always an easy task, but Students Offering Support (SOS)’s High School program is here to help high school students increase their understanding, confidence and of course, final marks. We are offering our program in The GTA, Waterloo, and London Regions – by volunteers students at UofT, Laurier, and Western. The website for more information & registration is soshighschool.com . What is High School SOS?: Students Offering Support (SOS) is a student-led charity that raises marks, money and roofs. High School SOS offers Exam-AID group review sessions that help high school students boost their marks. SOS volunteers have prepared three hour long interactive group review sessions for numerous high school math and science courses primarily, with each session covering all the material on their upcoming exams. Sessions are held at the university campus (U of T (downtown), Laurier, and Western), taught by university volunteers and cost a $25 donation. UPDATE: In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the SOS High School chapters are dedicated the funds raised to re-build a school which was identified by one of our partnering NGO’s to have been fully destroyed in the earthquake. About Students Offering Support: SOS: Students Offering Support is a national charitable organization that raises money to raise roofs through raising marks during our 'Exam-AID' review sessions. The money raised is spent creating sustainable education projects in developing nations. SOS is a network of over 700 student volunteers across Canada who have taught 7000 students and raised $340,000 for development projects over the last 5 years. |
