Are you:

  • A university student looking to make a positive impact on children in developing nations?
  • Interested in gaining exposure to the world of social entrepreneurship, managing a sustainable social venture?
  • Looking for great extra-curricular experience, managing a team of volunteers to teach hundreds and raise thousands?

We at Students Offering Support are always looking for the next set of exceptional university student leaders who are interested in getting SOS integrated on their campus.

We have spent over 4 years developing the support and infrastructure of SOS, so that students like yourself can make the most of the foundation we have created and make it your own project at your school.

With a sustainable business model, full website support, a brand identity, financial assistance, and the presence to provide a national community (national conference, peer-groups, online volunteer portal), you will see great results, gain amazing experience, and meet amazing people in your very first year.

"Looking back on the experience of founding Trent SOS I can proudly say I was an SOS pioneer. I was part of what is becoming a growing movement across Canada which seeks to empower students in Canada and abroad with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed. Students Offering Support provides as truly unique and sustainable approach to charitable work making significant contributions both locally and globally."

Paul Jones, Founder and Past President
Trent University's chapter of Students Offering Support

As a chapter president, your are a social entrepreneur. Your job is to find and lead a team of student volunteers to:

  • Raise Marks - coordinate and run Exam-AID sessions for various university (and potentially high school) courses.
  • Raise Money - through your Exam-AIDs, by charging between a $20 and $30 donation to attend a session, you have the opportunity to raise $500, $5000, or $50,000 for a community in need.
  • Raise Roofs - at the end of each year, your team will work with one of our NGO partners to devise, coordinate, and help build the chosen project on a volunteer outreach trip at the end of each year.

If you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity or are interested in becoming chapter president for the upcoming semester or year, contact us.

For the 2008-2009 school year, Students Offering Support has chapters operating on 11 university campuses across Canada (see logos on the top bar). These student associations are run solely by student volunteers who are helping thousands of their peers in the classroom. In doing this we are working towards raising $100,000 for numerous marginalized communities to provide children with access to a quality education.

For the upcoming year, SOS is currently hiring the next set of student leaders who are interested in gaining this entrepreneurial experience as the founder and president of their school’s chapter.
